You are now entering the Moonlight Zone. A place where anything can happen. Mostly anything, that is. Strange sorts of things. Weird sorts of things. Educational things. For the next few moments of your life, you have no control over the plot archs. We start off in a seemingly ordinary town, on a street, any street. Any good town needs a good town trouble maker. This particular town had a low crime rate, like many small towns. The smaller the town, the smaller the crime rate. Everybody in the town knows this and feels protected by this. Miss Kit-cat has been having an ordinary day, with that pleasure of chasing down John Apple, the town's trouble maker. She is presently in quite a rush for the bus. Her watch read three fifteen. The bus guide in her hands read three seventeen. No sign of John. She didn't like this. Cutting it short was not her style. There was still the matter of finding John, but that would have to wait until she got back from her trip, she thought clearly. John was the type to rather go hide than play aggressively. This, together with the short time span she had, led her to the final decision. She shook her head, picked up her bags, and started to walk towards the bus stop. The bus stop was a good block away. It was a peaceful street, and always had been. That is, until John Apple suddenly jumped out from behind the nearest street corner as she walked by. For kit-kat, this was a shocker. An honest-to-goodness shock. She grew instantly stiff. Was it a mugger? No, it coudn't be, not in this town. It was a state of total numbness. Ever so slightly, she pieced it together: it was John alright. She knew she had to catch the bus. She couldn't move a single muscle. Her body was prepared for a fight. Every ounce of will power couldn't draw a new breath into her lungs. It is going to be his fault, all his fault, she thought. Not mine. How would she explain this later? She searched for an answer while she struggled to regain bodily control. John stood there for a few seconds. The bus drove up to the stop a block away. He ran in that direction, he boarded the bus, and off it went. Without her. She was still numb, but she was able to speak. "That's the last straw." John had been far too incooperative today. He can have the newspaper. Let him have it. Nothing exciting happened around there anyway. After some struggling efforts of movement, she broke free from the spell. But was that really John? She pondered this as she wandered down the streets, back the way she came. Had you been kit-cat, you too would have missed the bus. Who knows where this mysterious kit-cat character was going. Perhaps to a job. Perhaps to Mexico. We don't know. Her plans for the day have now been infected by John Apple. This, and more, only in.. the Moonlight Zone. Cue music.
