Hi All,

Not much happened in the last 2 weeks concerning the BBCamp but that
doesn't mean that BBCamp is not for sure.
Jamie McQuay asked me and Deepak Singh in a private mail last week:
"Do you have any idea when you will be able to confirm that BioBarCamp
is for sure?"

Deepak suggested:
"We should make a decision this week if we want to get cracking on
Sponsorship and help people with their airline reservations."

Ok, I suggest here to come up with a decision concerning time and
venue by the end of May and revitalize the BBCamp list a bit.

What seems to be at play:

1. Institute for the Future 7th August, Palo Alto for around 100
people, number one choice (also I'd like to ask Alex Soojung-Kim Pang
to confirm it or not), and a more informal dinner at 6th August
(although the whole unconference format is for being informal)
somewhere around.

2. there is a cool NASA Ames option too as I was informed by Jessy
Cowan-Sharp & John Cumbers: Jessy wrote: "depending on the number of
people, we might be able to use our new coworking space in building 17
(! which we're very excited about, but probably only holds about 40),
or building 3 (the conference center), whihc would hold a couple of
hundred pretty easily..." I'd like to ask them to share the info on
this list.

3. as there were no answers back from 23andMe and Navigenics I'd like
to drop the idea of forcing these for-profit companies to host BBCamp
although for sponsorhsip they are good candidates had we the chance to
get any answer back from them.

Concerning sponsorship letters and negotiations et cetera: I'd like to
ask your community (and native/polite English) help in that especially
the help of the SciBarCamp organizers planning to attend BBCamp too.

That's for the administrative part and hopefully we all write on our
topic&people suggestions later, which is really the point for all of
us, I think. :)

Best,
Attila
