This is a proposal for a problem/solution session. The full
description is here:

Summary:

A multi-layer urban map that helps explore and understand data about
an urban center.

What's the more effective way to build and visualize a map of an urban
area that captures a wide range of information about the human
enterprise in that area: basic demographics, family structure,
education, crime, health, disease, community safety resources, and
more. The map would utilize GIS, remote sensing, and social
networking information and technologies to build a picture that could
be the basis of future research, education, and community action and
development. WikiCrimes captures the spirit of this endeavor
perfectly, as does the cholera map created by Dr. John Snow (as
described in The Ghost Map).
