Just emailing the list to say hello. I am pretty much a transhumanist
newbie. I like the idea of being proactionary.

I am a bioinformatician who got interested in paradigm shift through
people like Al Ewing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Ewing) and Don
Stockbauer on the alt.fan.hofstadter news group. I got interested in
the idea of the biouniverse though my friend Jong Park.

Through Jong and his colleagues I set up a database of biological
databases (MetaBase - http://BioDatabase.Org) and together we are
trying to build the database of scientific introductions (The
Introductome - http://introductome.org). I live with some friends in
an internet nation called Funktopia - http://funktopia.net.

Hello!

----

Win-win to me seems to involve a lot of transcendence. All the
dualities - Republican-Democrat, liberal-conservative contain the trap
of infinite debate. The key is to extract the good from both and
MoveOn. I dont know if it's possible to remeber the same experience in
the same way for everybody. There are as many worldviews possible as
there are vantage points from the rim of the Grand Canyon. But the key
is to extract common princples, ones which, (of course), help us to
comfortably survive. I see the global brain as being based on what is
remembered, in fact, it's what each human remembers, what is stored in
all forms of computer memory, plus the physical plant of the Earth,
the huge blocks world we all live in. ---- Don
