You bet.

Absolutely. There's a few ways to get this list:
http://biohack.sf.net/ <- in the zip file
I also have lists on my websites.
http://heybryan.org/mediawiki/
Check out the bottom of that page for some more links. I also have tens
of thousands of bookmarks on my local machine, some of which I'll share
now that might be related to DIY biology. You may want to organize a
hackathon or something for a group of people to go through this huge
list sometime.

Yes, I have read all of these, and yes, it's exciting.

Personally, I think we need to work on DNA sequencers. There's not much
out there as for schematics. Ironically, we have DNA synthesizers down,
there's even an open source project out there.
What we need people to do is go through their labs and write down all of
the equipment, what it's used for, some quick project ideas, and then
how to make the equipment on their own. Some of us back home outside of
the lab can come up with ways to make the equipment, as long as we know
the full toolchain.
You may want to join my mailing list:
http://biohack.sf.net/ -- but the focus is more than just DIY biology,
it's also DIY brain enhancements and self-replicating nonbiological
machines.
